“What for Where Display”- two pages

The street level shop on the southeast corner of Second Avenue and Sixty First Street – in the heart of the decorating world, became the new home of Country Floors and would remain so until the late eighties. With white walls and wooden beams, the showroom floor was sectioned off in squares to create a large grid with a tile floor inset in each section. This became the formula for all our showrooms in the years to follow along with tile plaques arranged in floor to ceiling order and interspersed with an occasional fantasy vignette recalling a European tile installation or a mocked up real life living space.
