This February Country Floors participated in Modernism Week held in Palm Springs, California.  This event is held every year at various buildings in and around Palm Springs.  The show celebrates and fosters midcentury architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking regards the modernist movement.  This year particularly was dedicated to sustainable living.

Country Floors was the only company showing its new lines of contemporary tile products, including new stone and glass water jet designs featuring our Talya Collection and Dimensions Collection. New hand-made ceramic wall and floor tiles featuring our Marsala Collection and Barcela Cement Collection. Over 200 visitors from all over the world visited our booth and gave us amazing feedback.

The main show hall was directly across from Palm Springs Art Museum. The museum itself has an interesting display of modern art, furniture, and exhibits. Various lectures were presented during the show and the lecture about Cuba’s modern architecture movement was particularly interesting.

An exhibit about Robinson’s department store design and vintage furniture from the Mad Men TV show was also displayed.

All in all, it has been a great experience, and the warm and sunny weather of Palm Springs was a nice diversion from the long cold winter on the east coast.
