Country Floors couldn’t be any happier! Being selected as the 2018 Architectural Digest Great Design award winner for our Maroc Tile from our Faience Blue Tile Collection has been the greatest news for Spring 2018 so far!

Architectural Digest’s annual Great Design Awards Program sets apart the best in design throughout the year by selecting 150+ design products. As mentioned on the Architectural Digest website, AD’s editors source the globe for the most eye-popping new products—from sinks to surfaces—and tapped a few superstar designers for expert advice. The takeaway from 2018 Best in Design was simple: Personality Wins! And we could not agree more!

2018 Architectural Digest Great Design

Our Faience Blue Tile Collection illustrates the best in traditional Blue and White decorative tiles. Faience is an early historical reference to tin-glazed ceramic ware decorated with opaque colors, such as delftware and majolica. Today it is synonymous with an opaque blue painted design on a delicate white ground. This collection is handmade, hand-painted, glazed, and kiln fired.

Faience represents vintage 15th and 16th-century European designs and motifs from decorative 6×6 tiles. This tile collection is used for interior vertical installations; from kitchen backsplashes, bathrooms, tub surrounds, showers to powder rooms, fireplace surrounds etc. The possibilities are endless.
